Brighthelmstone Promotions aim is to provide quality album music for the quality Brighton audience. Encompassing a variety of genres from Roots to Electoronica covering all good album music. Here is an example of 10 artists that drove us to set up the company.
Bruce Sringsteen, REM (especially life's rich pageant), Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Emmy Lou Harris, Gram Parsons, Richmond Fontaine, Wilco, The Who and LCD Soundsystem.
We do not pigeon hole ourselves towards a specific genre, the fact we love Gram Parsons and LCD Sounsystem shows that we are diverse as long as the music captivates and affects us with true meaning. Jim Twangs more than he bleeps and Amy bleeps more than she twangs, it is this combined diversity that makes Brighthelmstone Promotions.
Gigs are a great form of total escapism and here are a few notworthy gigs we have attended in Brighton. The Mountain Goats - At the Sussex Arts Club now Hotel Du Vin (Gilded Palace), Bob Dylan - Brighton Centre (In the 90's on a Dylan good day), Richmond Fontaine - Everytime they come to Brighton! Especially when I (Jimmy W) DJ'd for them, Oasis - Brighton Centre, Blur - The Paradox! Yes The Paradox (now Tru), Warner E Hodges - Prince Albert, Roni Size - The Beach, Mark Eitzel - The Basement (Gilded Palace), Diana Jones - The Basement (Drifter Promotions) and My (wow) Morning Jacket - The Concorde 2 (Gilded Palace). The list could go on and on!!!!
